2iQ acquires Innovata Design and grows the team
Watford based 2iQ Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has acquired Innovata Design Ltd.
The two Companies have been working together for some time on the development of ergonomic products and also Customer briefs within 2iQ's Tailormade Ergonomics division.
The Directors of both Companies felt that the fit to bring the two Companies together was a perfect one and Stewart Colborne, Managing Director at 2iQ said, "This is exciting news and something that we have been working towards for some months now. It allows us to develop our own product lines further and faster and will mean that we will be able to provide an even more comprehensive design and build service to our Customers".
Innovata Design is based in Northamptonshire, where it will remain, as a division of 2iQ. Innovata's Managing Director Garry McKay, who has now joined the board of 2iQ as Design Director commented, "We are really happy with the acquisition as it will allow us to concentrate all of our team on what we do best, safe in the knowledge that the sales, marketing and administration will now be handled by the team in Watford. Also 2iQ's extensive manufacturing and project management skills will enable us to be even more efficient". 2iQ has already grown the design team in Northampton by adding two new Product Designers: BEN BIRD and JESSY LAI.
Their role is to facilitate 2iQ's ramp up in product design work within the office ergonomics arena and also to enable the Innovata Design team to continue to develop some of their other specialist niche market product design. With sales and Manufacturing growing at 2iQ's HQ in Watford, DAVE TURNER has also joined the busy Distribution & Operations team.
2IQ IN THE COMMUNITY
2iQ is really pleased to announce that we have appointed SignHealth – The Healthcare Charity for Deaf People, as our Official Charity. The 2iQ Director's were pleased to support the Beaconsfield based charity at their fundraising 'Boogie & Bling Ball' in January, which raised an amazing £23,000.
We were so impressed with the work that the charity is doing and by the 'Mary Hare Band' - an incredible collection of totally deaf musicians and vocalists (just think about that!), that we have agreed to provide not only some additional financial support, but also some practical help with the objectives that the charity has. We feel sure that staff will also be undertaking some fundraising activities too!!!
To start the ball rolling 2iQ has donated a further £250, which was the saving that we made this year by sending our Clients and Suppliers an electronic Christmas card ...
ELVIS is a hit at heathrow
Sleepy morning passengers looked twice on 4th December as 109 Elvis impersonators belted out the King’s hit ‘Suspicious Minds’ at Virgin Atlantic’s Gatwick check-in desk. The feat, which broke the World Record for the largest number of Elvis impersonators in one place, was achieved by 2iQ customers: Maris Interiors & Furniture Solutions.
A bank of photographers were on hand to capture the extraordinary scene, which achieved over 25 pieces of coverage, including The Sun, Metro and City AM. One cameraman also made a recording of the event, which was subsequently screened across America on CNN.
The record attempt was carried out before the 109 employees of Maris Interiors & Furniture Solutions boarded a flight to Las Vegas where they spent four days celebrating Christmas and Maris’ 30th anniversary. The Elvis impersonators also completed a sponsored walk in relay whilst on the plane, raising £73,000 for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity. 2iQ was pleased to contribute to such a deserving cause via an impressive and creative approach to fund raising by one of our closest industry partners. Well done to all involved.
